I have a deep affection for wrought iron gates. They possess a certain magic; what appears to be delicate is, in reality, incredibly strong and resilient. During my travels in Copenhagen, I encountered numerous stunning examples of these architectural wonders that inspired my creativity.
The design "Wrought By Time" draws its inspiration from these iron gates. In fact, the idea first came to me in a dream where I found myself hiking through a serene wood and stumbled across the ruins of an ancient keep...
The ambiance is quiet.
Your boots softly crunch against the frost-covered old path as you meander through the forest. The gentle morning light filters through the intricate lace of bare branches, illuminating the landscape. You take a deep breath, feeling the crisp autumn air fill your lungs and invigorate your spirit.
It is invigoratingly cold. You pull your hand-knit woolen hat, freshly completed from your knitting needles, lower over your brow for warmth and comfort.
The hike culminates unexpectedly at the sight of an old gate constructed of stone and wrought iron. The once-mighty ramparts have long since crumbled away, leaving behind only the decaying archway and intricate wrought iron to protect a long-forgotten keep.
As you immerse yourself in this enchanting setting, you may find inspiration for your own knitting projects. This pattern not only captures the beauty of wrought iron but also invites you to dream about the stories hidden behind crumbling walls. Join me in this artistic journey, and bring a piece of history to life with your knitting!
