Materials Required: To create your own Zig-Zag Shawl, you'll need about 335 to 385.2 meters (366.4 to 421.3 yards) of fingering weight yarn, a pair of 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles, a tapestry needle for finishing, and pins for blocking your design to perfection.

Skills Needed: Familiarity with the following techniques will enhance your knitting experience: K (knit), CO (cast on), BO (bind off), P2tog (purl two together), P2togtbl (purl two together through the back loop), K2tog (knit two together), Ssp (slip, slip, purl), K2togtbl (knit two together through the back loop), M1R (make one right), Kf&b (knit front and back), and pi (picking up stitches).
