Almina Socks

$5.93

Introducing the Almina Socks: a stunning addition to your sock knitting collection featuring an eye-catching, travelling cable motif that seamlessly transitions into matching ribbing on the cuffs, heels, and toes. These beautifully designed socks draw inspiration from my previous Almina creations, which include two shawls and a sweater, making them not only stylish but also a perfect coordinating piece.

Crafted using the cuff-down knitting method, the Almina Socks are designed to be worked in the round with the popular magic-loop technique, ensuring a fluid and enjoyable knitting experience. Whether you're a seasoned knitter or a beginner eager to enhance your skills, this pattern is tailored to accommodate your crafting level.

This comprehensive pattern offers both fully written instructions and detailed charted instructions for the intricate cable pattern, allowing you to choose your preferred method of working. You’ll find everything you need in one place, ensuring a smooth crafting process from start to finish.

I genuinely hope you enjoy crafting the Almina Socks as much as I enjoyed designing them!

These socks are specifically designed for fingering weight sock yarn. For the sample, I used The Wool Barn Cashmere Sock, a luxurious blend consisting of 80% Superwash Extrafine Merino, 10% Cashmere, and 10% Nylon. Each skein contains 100 grams, providing you with approximately 350 meters (383 yards) of knitting delight in the gorgeous Belle Epoque colorway.

To achieve the perfect fit, your gauge should be 30 sts x 40 rounds = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in stockinette stitch, and 32 sts x 40 rounds = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in the cable stitch pattern after washing and gentle blocking. For knitting these socks, I recommend using 2.5 mm (US 1.5) needles for optimal results.

Get ready to showcase your knitting skills and enjoy the timeless elegance of the Almina Socks! Perfect for gifting or treating yourself, this pattern is sure to become a go-to favorite in your collection.
