This delicate little angel dress was created with love and warmth in memory of my sweet niece, Amelia, who graced our lives for just 7 hours. I like to believe she is watching over us as a beautiful angel. This charming dress is a perfect tribute to her and a wonderful gift for any newborn or infant.
Designed for ages newborn to 2 years old, this angelic outfit can be easily modified to fit preemies and toddlers up to 4T using fingering and worsted weight yarn, respectively. The dress is worked flat to accommodate an offset back button band and then seamlessly joined to work in the round, making this top-down, seamless raglan design both efficient and easy to knit. The angel lace pattern featured on the sleeves and again just above the hem adds an engaging and unique challenge for knitters of all skill levels.
The sample was beautifully knit using Cascade Yarn 220 Superwash Sport, but feel free to experiment with any sport weight or DK weight yarn that achieves the necessary gauge. This versatility allows you to create a personalized touch with your color choices and textures.
