Discover our beautifully crafted mitten knitting pattern, perfect for both ladies and children! The same stylish design and pattern are utilized for both versions, with a key difference in yarn thickness to create the perfect size for each wearer.

Materials Required: To get started on these delightful mittens, you will need a set of 4 double-pointed knitting needles sized at 2.5 mm. For the ladies' mittens, prepare approximately 160 yards (150 metres) of DK or Light Worsted yarn, which is roughly equivalent to a 50 g ball. For the child’s mittens, opt for a 4-ply or fingering weight yarn. Additionally, having a stitch holder on hand will make your knitting experience smoother.

Finished Sizes: The end results of these charming mittens will fit perfectly! The ladies' mittens will measure approximately 7½ inches (19 cm) in length and 3½ inches (9 cm) across the palm. In contrast, the child’s mittens will be slightly smaller, measuring around 6½ inches (16 cm) long and 3 inches (7.5 cm) wide across the palm.

Gauge: It’s important to achieve the right gauge for a perfect fit. For the ladies' mittens, your gauge should be 7 stitches and 10 rows to equal 1 inch (2.5 cm) over stocking or stockinette stitch. For the child’s mittens, the gauge will be slightly tighter at 8 stitches and 11 rows, also equating to 1 inch (2.5 cm) over the same stitch type.

Whether you're an experienced knitter or just starting out, this pattern makes for a cozy and stylish accessory for cold days. Embrace the joy of knitting and create a beautiful pair of mittens that will warm hands and hearts alike!
