Boxified Mitts
Inspired by the beautiful Boxy Cowl designed by Michelle Krause, I decided to create a matching set of mitts that are both stylish and functional. These mitts are skillfully knitted using the magic loop technique, but feel free to use your preferred method for working in the round to customize your knitting experience.
Designed to be quick and easy, you can complete these mitts with just one 50g skein of yarn, making them an ideal project for last-minute gifts or personal use. These mitts not only showcase an elegant design but also boast a stretchy fabric that comfortably fits a variety of hand sizes, ensuring a snug yet flexible fit.
One of the standout features of this pattern is the thumb gusset, which is incredibly straightforward and requires no stitches to pick up. This makes it an excellent project for advanced beginners looking to enhance their knitting skills while creating something beautiful and practical.
In terms of techniques, you’ll be practicing essential skills such as knit, purl, K2tog, M1L, and M1R. Additionally, you will need some basic notions: two stitch markers to help keep track of your stitches, and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends to finish your mitts neatly.
A heartfelt thank you to my wonderful test knitters: Dawn, Kiwa, Jenni, and Linda!! Your feedback has been invaluable in perfecting this pattern, and I am excited to share it with the knitting community!
Whether you're treating yourself or making a thoughtful gift for someone special, these mitts are sure to be a hit. Explore your creativity with this fun and engaging mitt pattern, and enjoy the satisfaction of hand-knitting a stylish accessory!
