I recently created this stunning piece using Sublime's Cashmere Merino Silk DK, and I can confidently say that the pattern holds true without any modifications needed. You can easily adapt this pattern using a wide variety of yarns, as long as you aim for the recommended gauge of 22 stitches and 30 rows over 10 cm in Stocking Stitch, utilizing 4mm needles.
