Canis Geometricus mittens - knitting pattern

Canis Geometricus mittens

$7.20

This whimsical mitten pattern features a charming fox design, though it could also be interpreted as a stylized wolf. Both foxes (vulpes) and wolves (canis) belong to the Canidae family, making them perfect inspirations for this unique knitting project.

When I began crafting the chart for these delightful mittens, I started with the diamond-patterned design on the palm and cuff. To complement the diamond motifs, I designed the fox face to be as geometric and eye-catching as possible, seamlessly blending the elements of nature with artistic flair.

The pattern includes two complete sets of full right and left-hand charts for both mittens. One set features the word "foxy" on both palms, while the second set showcases a more adventurous approach, with "lone" on the left palm and "wolf" on the right palm, adding an extra touch of personality to your mittens.

In response to popular demand, I have also included a bonus, child-sized chart for this adorable pattern. The child-sized fox mittens are designed to be 51 stitches tall and 56 stitches wide, making them the perfect fit for little hands. This version is intended to be knit with a plain ribbed cuff and a simple plain thumb for added ease. Please note that no additional instructions are provided for the child-sized chart; your gauge will determine the final size of the mittens.

Yardage requirements by color are approximately 155 yards of dark pink (main color, MC) and 120 yards of light pink (contrast color, CC). Get ready to bring some fun and warmth to your wardrobe with these stylish mittens, perfect for chilly days and outdoor adventures!
