If you've always admired the unique style of traditional Icelandic lopapeysa jumpers, now is your chance to create your own vibrant version! I was inspired by the eye-catching neon colours I discovered at the Álafoss stand during the Unravel event, and I knew I had to design something special with this fabulous yarn. This jumper is perfect for knitters looking to embrace bold colours while keeping their project simple and fun. With only two colours worked per row, you'll find this chunky yarn makes the knitting process quick and enjoyable!
Construction: This stylish Icelandic-inspired jumper is worked from the bottom up in the round, ensuring a seamless finish. The body and sleeves are knitted separately before being joined together to create the yoke, making it an enjoyable journey from start to finish.
Sizing: The jumper is shown in size S on model Bronte, featuring no ease at the bust. For additional information on sizing, please refer to the schematic included with the pattern for detailed finished measurements to guide your knitting.
Yarn Requirements:
This original jumper was knitted using Álafoss Lopi: 4 (4, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8) balls in the lovely Winter Morning 1239 colourway, along with 1 ball in Neon Pink 7621 (if unavailable, feel free to substitute with Dark Magenta 1240), and additional 1 ball each of Ecru Heather 9972, Fuchsia Heather 9969, and Oxblood Red 1242.
For those considering alternatives, we have suggested substitute yarns to help you achieve a similar look and feel for your project. Dive into your knitting adventure today – you'll love the process of creating your very own colourful lopapeysa jumper!
