Chivalry Top
Introducing the enchanting Chivalry top, inspired by the magical tales of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere. As a child, I was captivated by the stories of bravery and romance that these characters embody, and this top channels that spirit into a beautiful knitting project. Crafted with Avalon Springs Farm Chivalry yarn, this design not only embodies elegance but also offers a delightful knitting experience. The yarn is remarkably soft and has a lovely hand, making it perfect for crafting a light and airy layer that feels luxurious against the skin.
The finished dimensions of the Chivalry top are as follows: Chest measurements of 32[36, 40, 44, 48, 52] inches with a length of 13(13.5, 14, 14, 14.5, 15) inches from the cast-on edge to the underarm. This versatile sizing ensures the top will fit beautifully on a variety of body shapes, making it an excellent addition to any wardrobe.
To create your Chivalry top, you will need Avalon Springs Farm Chivalry yarn, which is made from 100% silk noil. Each skein contains 475 yards per 4 oz, and you will require 2(2, 2, 2, 2, 3) skeins depending on the size you choose. The sample was expertly knit in the stunning colorway Mountains Majesty, but feel free to select any shade that inspires you!
For this project, use a US #5/3.75mm circular needle, ideally 32 inches or longer for the body of the top, although larger sizes may prefer a longer needle for easier handling. Additionally, have your preferred method of knitting small circumferences in the round on hand, along with the following notions: stitch markers, waste yarn or stitch holders, and a yarn needle for weaving in ends.
Be sure to check your gauge: aim for 20 stitches and 28 rows per 4 inches in stockinette stitch. Achieving the correct gauge is crucial to ensure your Chivalry top turns out perfectly. Embrace the charm of this pattern and let your knitting journey take you through the enchanting world of chivalry and romance!
