When crafting the Textural shawl, it's important to remember that using different yarns can yield varying results. I’ve created two samples using distinct fiber blends, and to achieve the same blocked gauge, I needed to adjust the needle sizes for each yarn type. This shows the significance of blocking your swatches because different fibers behave differently during the blocking process, impacting the final look and feel of your project.

For the sample made with a luxurious Merino-silk blend, I used the following specifications: Needles: 4 mm (US6). The Gauge: for unblocked garter stitch is 23 sts/10cm, and for blocked work, it measures 16.5 sts/10cm. The Yarn: utilized for this project is Botanical Yarn DK, a lovely 50/50 merino/silk mix with approximately 212m/100g. For the sample, I used 1 skein of each color, consuming approximately 89-91g of each color. The colors are: Colour A: Sweet Pea Ripple, Colour B: Sweet Pea Candyfloss, and Colour C: Hydrangea Aspera.
