Currituck Sound
This summer, I found myself in a creative lull, contemplating what exciting project to present for my annual not-mystery knit-a-long (NMKAL). It was almost time to abandon the idea entirely when inspiration struck during a beautiful moment crossing the Currituck Sound after our cherished family beach week. Suddenly, the vision of a stunning 2-color shawl began to take shape, showcasing various unique stitch patterns I’ve incorporated in my designs over the years. And thus, the Currituck Sound shawl was born!
This eye-catching shawl pattern requires just 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn, making it a perfect project for knitters who love using lightweight materials. The design prominently features a versatile element that I’ve often employed: slipped stitches. This technique not only enhances the visual appeal of the shawl but also highlights the numerous ways slipped stitches can be transformed into striking and diverse stitch patterns. Whether you're an experienced knitter or looking to expand your skills, the Currituck Sound shawl is sure to inspire and challenge you.
