Yarn: To create your own pair of Dappled Deep socks, you will need approximately 200 (230, 260) yards / 185 (210, 240) meters of fingering weight yarn. We recommend using Audine Wools Cloud Sock, a delightful blend of 60% Superwash Merino, 30% Mohair, and 10% Nylon, which comes in a generous 400 yards (366 meters) per 100 grams. For our sample, we used one skein in the enchanting colorway, Wolf Moon.
Gauge: Achieve a stunning fabric with a gauge of 32 stitches and 40 rounds per 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch, using the larger needles specified in this pattern.
Tools Needed: To knit the Dappled Deep socks, you will require Size 1 (2.25 mm) 40” (100 cm) circular needles or the size needed to meet your gauge. Additionally, you’ll need Size 0 (2 mm) 40” (100 cm) circular needles, which should be one size smaller than your gauge needle. Don't forget a stitch marker and a tapestry needle for finishing touches!
Finished Measurements: The Dappled Deep socks are designed to fit a circumference of 7” (8”, 9”) / 18 (20, 23) cm. Plus, you can easily adjust the length to your preference, making them a versatile addition to your sock collection.
