Dimasq 1

$5.93

The Dimasq knitting pattern is uniquely crafted and beautifully illustrated with photographs, making it accessible in both English and German. This versatile pattern allows you to choose any yarn and create any size that suits your needs. However, since stranded knitting tends to produce a warming effect, I recommend using a high-quality 4-ply yarn for the best results. Remember, gauge is not a crucial factor in this project, so feel free to experiment!

For my Dimasq wrap, I used about 5 skeins of Regia 4-ply yarn: 3 in the background color and 2 in a contrasting color. This combination results in a generously sized wrap—perfect for draping around your shoulders or even using as a cozy blanket. As someone who is quite tall, I can assure you that most people will find it large enough to comfortably sit on!

When preparing to knit the Dimasq wrap, be prepared to use larger needles than those suggested on the yarn label. Stranded color work requires extra room to ensure your stitches glide smoothly. You'll need a set of double-pointed needles (DPNs) and circular needles in various lengths to accommodate the project's requirements.

In addition to the needles, don't forget to have a crochet hook on hand, along with some contrasting sock yarn to secure the steek stitches. A tapestry needle will also be essential for finishing touches. Lastly, keep a small pair of scissors at your side for cutting the steeks—this pattern provides a fantastic opportunity to practice your steeking techniques!

Exciting news: I will also be publishing this Dimasq pattern as a double-face edition soon, offering even more creative possibilities! Whether you're an experienced knitter looking for a new challenge or a beginner keen to try your hand at stranded knitting, the Dimasq pattern is a delightful project that combines artistry with functionality.
