Ekollon Sock
Welcome to a delightful knitting project inspired by the beauty of Autumn! I'm excited to introduce the Ekollon Sock pattern, a tribute to the acorn—known as "Ekollon" in Swedish. As I embraced the vibrant hues of nature, I dyed the yarn using onion skins, resulting in colors that perfectly capture the essence of fall. This project combines my passion for knitting with the charm of acorns, making it a truly memorable experience that I can't wait to share with you! Can you spot the hidden acorns nestled within the lace pattern? I hope you enjoy this project as much as I did and end up with a squishy sock that’s perfect for the Autumn season!
Yarn: For this project, you'll need sock yarn (445 yds/405 m/100 g). On average, you'll require about 267 yds/244 m/60 g to complete a pair of size 2 socks, fitting a European size 38.
Suggested Needles: To create the main fabric, use US 1/2.5 mm needles—either double-pointed needles (DPNs) or a circular needle for the Magic Loop method. For the ribbing, opt for 2.25 mm DPNs or a circular needle also suitable for Magic Loop.
Gauge: Achieve a gauge of 32 stitches and 40 rows over a 4”/10 cm square on larger needles. This measurement is taken over stockinette stitch in the round and should be evaluated after blocking using 2.5 mm (US 1) needles.
Once finished, you'll have a beautifully designed pair of Ekollon Socks that embody the warmth and charm of autumn. Don't hesitate to embark on this knitting journey, and enjoy every stitch as you bring these cozy socks to life!
