Inspired by my recent visit to the Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festival, I designed these gloves, affectionately named "Garnet," as a personal endeavor in knitting design. For this design, my lower wrist measured 8” and my upper wrist measured 7”. I decided to use the upper wrist circumference of 7” as my final measurement since I opted for 2x2 ribbing, which provides a comfortable stretch. With my gauge at 5 stitches per inch, I calculated that I needed a total of 35 stitches to cast on. To make the ribbing uniform, I rounded this up to 36 stitches, ensuring an even number for the 2x2 ribbing pattern.
