Yarn Requirements: You will need approximately 550 m of Vams PT3 by Rauma Garn (100% wool), which weighs 50 g and offers 83 m per ball. Please note that the sample shown is in the elegant shade of 03 GREY. If you're looking for alternatives, equal amounts of bulky weight yarn can also be used.
Keep in mind that this shawl is substantial in size. We recommend avoiding heavy-weight yarns for this project to ensure comfort and wearability. Instead, opt for blown, woollen-spun airy chunky yarns that provide both warmth and lightness. To achieve a similar beautiful effect, consider incorporating a thread of mohair along with a worsted or aran weight yarn.
Needles: For this project, you will need size 6 mm / US 10 circular needles with a cable length of at least 100 cm / 40”. This allows for ample space to accommodate your stitches as the shawl grows.
Gauge: Aim for a gauge of 14 stitches by 18 rows, which corresponds to a 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” swatch in stockinette stitch after blocking.
