Size
These hats come in one size, ensuring a comfortable fit for everyone. The dimensions for both designs are:
18 ½” around x 9 ½” tall / 47 cm x 24 cm tall.
Yarn
To craft these unique hats, you will need Worsted Weight / 5 ply yarn. For the sample, we used Plymouth Yarn Galway, which consists of 100% Pure Wool, offering 210 yards / 192 meters per 100 grams.
Color choices for this project include: Black 0009, Bleach 008, and Happy Green 0145.
You’ll require 110 yards of your main color (MC) and 55 yards of your contrasting color (CC) to create one hat. If you're considering a yarn substitute, ensure that you use 2+ plies of worsted weight yarn, either in wool or superwash wool, that matches the target gauge.
Needles
For this pattern, you will need US #5 / 3 mm needles. Feel free to adjust your needle size if necessary to achieve the desired gauge.
Gauge
The required gauge for this pattern is:
24 stitches x 26 rows = 4” x 4” / 10 cm x 10 cm in colorwork stitch after blocking.
20 stitches x 26 rows = 4” x 4” / 10 cm x 10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking.
