Mystery KAL Shawl (the house cozy)
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you purchased this knitting pattern before June 2011 at a fiber festival, you might have a version with an error in it. Please refer to the errata section below for clarification.
All patterns bought since June 2011 or obtained for the Knit Along (KAL) are accurate and do not contain any mistakes. We sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused by the earlier versions that had errors.
This beautiful pattern was originally designed for a Mystery KAL within the Criminal Minds group, which kicked off on November 10th, 2010. The pattern affectionately earned the nickname "The House Cozy," which has now been incorporated into the official pattern title for easy reference!
To create this stunning half-circle shawl, you will need 880 yards of fingering weight yarn along with size 7 circular needles. The unique design not only makes it a captivating project but also results in a delightful finished piece that you’ll love to wear or gift.
Errata: If you find you have 297 stitches at the end of Row 15 in Clue #4, congratulations! Your pattern is correct as written. However, IF you have 301 stitches, which is entirely possible since this is a 'mystery row', you should follow these adjustments for rows 16 and 17:
Row 16: Knit 3, then purl across the shawl to the last 3 stitches, and finish with knit 3 (total = 301 stitches).
Row 17: [Provide instructions for Row 17 here to complete the errata.]
Thanks for choosing our knitting pattern! We hope you enjoy creating your own "House Cozy" shawl and sharing the love for knitting with others in your crafting community.
