Looking for the perfect last-minute holiday gift or a festive outfit enhancement? This delightful knitting project is ideal for beginners eager to explore colorwork techniques. You'll get hands-on experience with carrying floats and working in the round, making it a great choice for your crafting journey!

The yarn used for this project was sourced from my personal stash, but you can easily substitute it with any DK weight yarn you prefer. I opted for soft, natural yarns featuring a touch of silk to ensure added drape and a luxurious softness against the skin—perfect for those chilly holiday gatherings!

Materials

Yarn:

  • Main Color: Manos Del Uruguay Silk Blend (70% Wool / 30% Silk) – 150 yards per 50g skein: 1 skein in the beautiful colorway Desert
  • Contrast Color: The Fiber Co. Acadia (60% Wool / 20% Alpaca / 20% Silk) – 145 yards per 50g skein: 1 skein in the striking colorway Thunder Bay

Needles:

  • US 5 (3.75mm) 16-20 inch circular needle
  • US 6 (4mm) 16-20 inch circular needle

Other Notions: Don't forget to have a stitch marker and a tapestry needle ready!

Gauge: The gauge for this project is 24 stitches and 34 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch after blocking. While achieving an exact gauge isn't crucial for this knitting project, variations may affect the overall yardage required. As such, it’s always worthwhile to make a gauge swatch for best results.

Whether you're a seasoned knitter or just starting out, this project is sure to bring joy and creativity to your holiday season. Embrace the art of knitting and add a personal touch to your festive attire or gift-giving this year!
