Spring has officially arrived, and we couldn’t be more excited! It's the perfect opportunity to pull out your delightful knitting supplies or create something new and beautiful!

Introducing the Old Town Shawl, your go-to accessory for seamless weather transitions. This versatile shawl is ideal for those chilly spring evenings and can be styled in numerous ways.

  • You can craft this stunning shawl using a variety of yarn weights, including fingering, sport, or DK weight yarns, giving you plenty of options to match your style.
  • Choose between stockinette or garter stitch for the body of your shawl, allowing you to personalize the design based on your preferences.
  • Depending on your yarn selection and the stitch style you opt for, you'll create either a spacious shawl with greater depth or a charming shawlette with a more delicate, narrower profile.

Gauge: Achieve 22 stitches and 28 rows in a 4x4” / 10x10 cm square using stockinette stitch to ensure your shawl turns out perfectly.

Notions: For DK weight yarn, use US #6 / 4.0 mm circular needles or for sport/fingering yarns, opt for US #5 / 3.75 mm circular needles (32” / 80 cm). Adjust needle size as necessary to reach gauge. Additionally, you’ll need 2 stitch markers and a darning needle or crochet hook for weaving in ends.

Yarn Requirements: This design comes in one size that fits all and requires approximately 600 yards of yarn, whether you choose sock/fingering, sport, or DK weight. The sample is knit using Malabrigo Silky Merino for an exquisite feel, and we’ll provide suggested substitute yarns below.
