Oscar loves novelty yarn
Are you looking for a creative way to use that novelty yarn sitting unused in your stash? Look no further! This delightful pattern will guide you in transforming your extra yarn into an adorable teddy bear that’s sure to become a cherished companion. The unique texture of novelty yarn adds a fuzzy twist, giving your bear a charming appeal that standard yarn simply can’t provide. Plus, don't forget to utilize that tiny ball of leftover yarn, which has been hanging around for too long, to create the bear's sweet muzzle and cozy soles.
Materials:
- Yarns needed: worsted novelty yarn in beige (I opted for boucle) – approximately 76m/83yd
- DK yarn in tan – about 8m/8.7yd
When selecting your yarn, remember that while matching the same yarn weight and achieving the exact gauge is not crucial, it is important that your novelty yarn is slightly thicker than your contrasting DK yarn for the best results.
- Needles: 2.5mm circular needles (32"/80cm)
- Stuffing: polyester fiberfill or your preferred stuffing material
- Eyes: 9 mm safety eyes or 2 small black beads
- Sewing Tools: sewing needle
- Cutting Tools: scissors
- Embroidery Supplies: black yarn scraps for adding facial details
