Quonk Socks
Introducing the Quonk Socks knitting pattern—a delightful project that combines an easy cable repeat with stunning variegated or multicolored yarn. This creative design elevates your knitting experience, making it more engaging than simple stockinette or ribbing patterns. Plus, the charming cabled ribbing contributes to a snug, accommodating fit that makes these socks perfect for gifting!
The Quonk Socks pattern is thoughtfully crafted and test knit for three sizes: adult Small, Medium, and Large. With feedback from our dedicated test knitters, this pattern has been rated as beginner-friendly, making it an excellent choice for newcomers to the wonderful world of sock knitting.
GAUGE: Achieve a gauge of 34 stitches and 44 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in stockinette stitch after blocking. This ensures your socks will fit comfortably and look fabulous!
MATERIALS: You will need a 100g skein of fingering weight yarn. Our sample showcases the exquisite Honey Girl Farms Deluxe Sock yarn (85% Superwash Merino Wool/15% nylon; 437 yds [400 m]/100 gr) in the beautiful colorway Claire’s Surgery (Outlander Yarn Club). You will require: 1 (1, 1) skein for sizes S, M, and L, respectively.
Additionally, gather your supplies: U.S. 2 (2.75 mm) needles (or the size necessary to obtain the gauge), U.S. 1.5 (2.5 mm) needles, a darning needle for weaving in ends, and a cable needle, which is optional but helpful for the cabled ribbing technique.
Special thanks to my incredible group of test knitters: Rachel, Sabine, and Larissa! Your support and feedback helped bring this pattern to life.
