Sandy Floss Shawl
Welcome to the Sandy Floss Shawl Pattern!
Create Your Own Unique Shawl with Endless Customization!
This versatile pattern allows you to knit to your own gauge and use as many skeins of yarn as you desire! Whether you want a cozy wrap for chilly evenings or a stylish accessory for any occasion, the Sandy Floss Shawl can be tailored to fit your needs.
To maximize the potential of your 4ply yarn, we recommend weighing it before you begin your project. When you've used about half of your yarn (approximately 50g, less about 5g), you can transition to the central and decrease panels. This technique means you can easily use over 100g of yarn for a larger, more luxurious shawl without the stress of “yarn chicken”! Enjoy peace of mind as you create your beautiful piece.
While my gauge is not critical to the size of the shawl, I've included the following details for those who want to ensure their stitch count aligns perfectly:
Gauge: 22 stitches x 33 rows creates a 10cm x 10cm (4”x4”) square in garter stitch (blocked), using 3.75 mm (US Size 5) needles or any size needed to achieve the correct gauge.
Wondering what yarn to choose? For the best results, select 100g of a soft fingering/sock yarn that matches the yardage of the yarn used in my samples. Don't hesitate to use more yarn if you prefer a bigger, cozier shawl! (Refer to the Gauge section above for guidance on maximizing your yarn usage.)
This pattern is perfect for both beginner and experienced knitters alike—get ready to enjoy your knitting journey with the Sandy Floss Shawl!
