Struie Hill Fingerless Mitts - knitting pattern

Struie Hill Fingerless Mitts

$6.00

On a recent adventure to the breathtaking Scottish Highlands, my husband and I embarked on a hike to the stunning lookout at the top of Struie Hill. Surrounded by rolling slopes adorned with vibrant purple heather and delicate feathery ferns, we followed a rocky path that led us to an awe-inspiring view of the Dornoch Firth. The beauty of this landscape is captured perfectly in these unique knitted mitts, which evoke memories of that wonderful vista: the winding hiking trail, the rich purple hues of Struie Hill, and the shimmering jewel-like waters of Dornoch Firth, a habitat for salmon, seals, and even playful dolphins!

This beautifully crafted pattern is designed to be knitted from the wrist to the fingers, featuring an elegant cable and lace motif that is seamlessly maintained across the back of the wrist and hand from start to finish. On the palm side, a garter stitch strip borders a simple ribbing, which also extends from the wrist to the fingertips, providing a stretchy and versatile fit perfect for various hand sizes. The upper portion of the thumb is crafted last, ensuring a snug and comfortable finish. To cater to your preferences, two cuff lengths (short and long) are included in the comprehensive instructions. Additionally, the wrist cuff length can be easily adjusted by adding or subtracting a pattern repeat before starting the thumb gusset, allowing for complete customization.

BONUS Round Tracker Checklist included! This handy tracker will help you keep your knitting organized and on track as you create these lovely mitts.

The color shown in our example is Indiecita, which complements the theme of nature and the enchanting Scottish landscape beautifully. Whether you’re a seasoned knitter or a beginner, this pattern is perfect for anyone looking to combine functionality with artistic design. Get ready to create your own pair of Struie Hill mitts and keep your hands warm while evoking memories of one of the most beautiful views in Scotland!
