My sister got married this May, and in preparation for her special day, I found a stunning dress that was perfect for the occasion. However, since it was a summer dress, I had the perfect excuse to create a beautiful shawl! Unfortunately, my time management wasn't ideal, and I didn't finish the shawl in time for the wedding. Nonetheless, I can still wear it and fondly remember my sister's wedding!

I designed this gorgeous circle-shaped shawl using a delightful skein of WhispyStar yarn from the talented indie dyer Sternenstaub. This luxurious yarn boasts an impressive 1200m per 100g, and I still had 20g leftover after completing the shawl! If you're considering making your own, you can also use a lace yarn with 800m per 100g; for that option, you'll need about 1100m to achieve similar results.

For those looking to add a touch of sparkle, the pattern includes an option to create a fully beaded shawl. To complete the beaded version, you will need a total of 836 beads. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with bead placement; the pattern includes a helpful photo tutorial at the end that guides you through the process of placing the beads on your stitches for a dazzling finish.

This knitting pattern features both charts and written instructions, making it accessible to knitters of all skill levels. The shawl is quite simple to knit, thanks to the small, easy-to-follow charts. Plus, any unusual techniques used in the pattern come with detailed photo tutorials at the end, ensuring that you can confidently navigate each step.

The shawl is showcased in two beautiful variations: a handspun Wensleydale lace version in a vibrant red and the stunning Sternenstaubs WhispyStar in a rich blue. If you’re looking for a suggested substitute yarn, you can find options listed below. Embrace your creativity and start knitting your very own shawl today, making it a cherished keepsake that reminds you of love and celebration!
