Introducing a beautiful crescent-shaped shawl designed with three stunning colors, perfect for your next knitting project. This shawl features a body constructed mostly of twisted rib stitches, enhanced by a delightful combination of various stitch patterns that create intricate textures throughout. The elegant border is crafted using two-color brioche, incorporating basic brioche increase and decrease stitches to add depth and style.
Yarn Details: To create this exquisite shawl, you'll need light fingering weight yarn in three colors: C1: 330 yards (300 meters) (pink in the sample); C2: 300 yards (275 meters) (yellow) - this is the dominant color used in the border brioche section; and C3: 530 yards (485 meters) (variegated). For our sample, we used Bear in Sheep’s Clothing Luxury yarn (50% Wool, 50% Silk, 495 meters, 100 grams) in the following colors: C1: Smoke, C2: Protista, and C3: Millpond.
It’s important to note that circular needles are required for the brioche section of this shawl. Additionally, if you are a tight knitter, like myself, you may use the same needle size for both twisted rib and brioche stitches. However, if you tend to knit loosely, consider going down a needle size for the brioche section to ensure the best results.
Gauge: Achieve the perfect fit with a gauge of 28 stitches and 40 rows, which equals 4 inches (10 centimeters) in 1x2 twisted rib (k1tbl, p2) after blocking. This shawl not only showcases your knitting skills but also allows you to experiment with colors and textures, making it a versatile addition to your wardrobe.
Whether you're looking to create a thoughtful gift or a lovely accessory for yourself, this crescent-shaped shawl pattern is a wonderful project that combines technique with artistry. Don't miss out on the chance to add this unique piece to your knitting collection!
