The hat is offered in three versatile sizes: Size 1 is perfect for small children under one year of age, Size 2 comfortably fits children around ten years old or adults with smaller heads, and Size 3 is ideal for adults with larger head sizes. Needle Size: To bring this beautiful hat to life, use 3.5 mm/US 4 and 4 mm/US 6 circular needles or double-pointed needles (DPNs). Alternatively, you can choose any needle size that allows you to achieve the desired gauge for a perfect fit.

Yarn: For this project, we recommend using Knit by Numbers yarn in DK weight, which is composed entirely of 100% Merino wool. Each skein is 100g and offers 250 m/273 yds of superb softness and warmth. For the chevron design, you will need one skein of Shade A: KBN05 and one skein of Shade B: KBN21.

Gauge (after blocking): Achieving the perfect gauge is crucial for your hat’s fit. In Stockinette stitch and using larger needles, aim for a gauge of 22 stitches and 34 rows measuring 10 cm/4”. When working in the chevron pattern, using the same larger needles, you will need a gauge of 22 stitches and 46 rows for the same 10 cm/4”.

Final Measurements: The finished hat sizes are Small (Medium, Large): Height: 15 cm/6.1” (18.2 cm/7.2”, 23.5 cm/9.25”); and Circumference: 44.5 cm/17.5” (55.9 cm/22”, 66 cm/26”). These measurements ensure a snug fit while allowing for enough stretch to provide comfort and warmth.
