This cardigan is tailored to be worn with approximately 2 inches (5 cm) of positive ease at the bust, ensuring a comfortable fit that allows for easy layering over your favorite outfits.
MATERIALS NEEDED
Yarn: We recommend using Vänö Ull Lammull yarn (150 m / 50 g) or any other sport weight yarn of your choice. For our sample cardigan, we used the classic and elegant Black colorway.
Depending on the size you choose, you will need:
- 5-5-6 skeins for sizes XXS-XS-S
- 6-6-7-8 skeins for sizes M1-M2-L1-L2
- 8-10-11-12 skeins for sizes XL-2XL-3XL-5XL
Yardage: The total yardage required for this cardigan ranges from 780 to 1865 yards (or 715 to 1710 meters), depending on the size selected. Make sure to check the specifics to ensure you have enough yarn on hand!
NEEDLES REQUIRED
To craft this beautiful cardigan, you will need US size 2½ (3.0 mm) and US size 4 (3.5 mm) circular needles, along with a 32’’ (80 cm) length. If you prefer working sleeves with double-pointed needles (dpns), feel free to use those as well. Adjust the needle size as necessary to achieve the correct gauge.
GAUGE: Achieve a gauge of 20 stitches x 30 rounds per 10x10 cm (4x4’’) in stockinette stitch, knitted flat on the larger needles, after blocking for best results.
ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES: Gather 8 stitch markers, some scrap yarn, and 6-8 buttons to complete your cozy cardigan.
