Taboo
Taboo is an enchanting top-down, crescent-shaped shawl that incorporates two stunning colors. This lacy design is beaded, dramatic, and truly magical! Created using Miss Babs Wild Silk, you can choose to use one variegated yarn and one solid color, making it versatile and customizable (the shawl is designed for either yarn to be used as Yarn A or Yarn B). While I recommend Miss Babs Wild Silk, this beautiful shawl can be knit using almost any lace weight silk yarn or a yarn that contains a high proportion of silk, allowing for endless creativity in your color choices.
For this project, you will need about 700 meters of Yarn A and approximately 150 meters of Yarn B. Additionally, you will require just under 750 Miyuki or Toho Size 6 seed beads that complement Yarn B. These beads are strategically placed on Yarn A, helping to visually unify the two different yarns for an exquisite finish.
The detailed pattern includes both charts and comprehensive written instructions, with bead placement clearly illustrated in both formats. To enhance your crafting experience, I recommend printing your pattern in color to make the bead placement easier to follow. If you do not have access to a color printer, consider using colored pencils to mark your beaded stitches directly on your printed pattern.
Whether you’re an experienced knitter or a beginner, the Taboo shawl offers a delightful challenge that will leave you with a stunning accessory to showcase or gift. Dive into this magical knitting adventure and experience the joy of creating something truly unique!
