When my sister expressed her wish for a unique pair of birthday socks, I created the stunning Zephania design just for her. Zephania is a beautifully crafted cuff-down sock, featuring intricate lace panels where increases and decreases create a stunning zigzag effect that flows down the cable both on the leg and the foot. This pattern is thoughtfully written for a mirror image pair, allowing for a truly special pair of socks to be knitted. Whether you prefer following written instructions or visual aids, the pattern is fully detailed with both written instructions and charts.

For this project, you’ll need the following notions: US Size 1 (2.25 mm) circular needles suitable for magic loop knitting, or a size needed to achieve your desired gauge. A cable needle is essential for the cable sections, along with at least one stitch marker for the beginning of the round—additional markers can be useful if you're working on complicated sections. Don't forget a tapestry needle for weaving in those pesky ends and some blocking supplies to ensure your Zephania socks turn out just right!

This pattern is specifically written for magic loop or two circulars, but seasoned sock knitters should find it easy to adapt for double-pointed needles (dpns) if they prefer. Start your journey to crafting beautiful, eye-catching socks that are sure to impress everyone. Whether you’re knitting for yourself or making a heartfelt gift, the Zephania socks will bring a smile to your face and warmth to your feet!
